BUILDING NUMBER FOUR An Amira Margaret Alexander Thriller
This thriller is set in the West Bank and Egypt during the beginning of
the Intifadeh, the Palestinian uprising in Gaza and the West Bank,
in 1988. Feisty Amira, daughter of an Egyptian mother and Canadian
father, artist and self-styled entrepreneur, meets her nemesis,
Miss Balgrave, at the Tel Aviv airport. Amira is cheeky, insolent, and
looking for an easy target.
However, before she knows it, Amira is caught in a web of intrigue,
political terrorism, and on her way to Cairo, Egypt!
The police are on her trail, and Amira finds herself on a collision course
with the State Security Investigations Services of Egypt.
Amira knows how to survive and navigate the brutal world of men and
scheming ambitious women. All the while, the Canadian born
Amira Margaret Alexander is reminded of her childhood in Egypt,
especially her experiences in Alexander at the private school where she
was educated in more ways than one.
The writing was very good and quite easy to follow ... many persons (like me) enjoy reading as entertainment – a bit of an escape. Themes are well developed and use vivid imagery to add depth to the narrative. Overall, I enjoyed reading this story.
