rupture of nations during the French Revolution

and the birth of rebellious ideas, she lived, survived,

and thrived. Although dreams are often interrupted,

if one perseveres, they may in time, come true. 

 

Wife of an exiled royal and lover of an Italian aristocrat,

Louise navigated the trials of her life with courage

and determination. As a notable salonnière she 

completed the continental tour for those determined to

be enlightened, for those wishing to promote change,

and for those who desired to be the forerunners of society.

She serves as a notable true woman of history who stood 

her ground, developed her talents, and influenced the men

and women in her worldwide sphere.

I lingered in Louise's footsteps at her home locations in Paris and Florence. Those visits were especially meaningful to me. Visits to the Biblioteca Marucelliana which first opened

its door on 18 September 1752 was especially noteworthy!

Louise Comtesse d'Albany was a unique woman. She is rooted in Jacobite history as the last

Stuart Queen. She is a witness to the horrors of the French Revolution and a forerunner in the

birth of the Italian nation.
