Canadian born Amira is a photographer for an Italian magazine based in Florence, Italy. She receives an assignment that she cannot resist. Her sleuthing and attempt to follow the story assignment bounce Amira to Cyprus and then back to her childhood home in Egypt.

Amira is searching for Solange Bertrand, mistress and sole witness to the brutal murder of Iraqi businessman Karan Roux.

Amira's discoveries have remarkable consequences and she becomes entangled in a deadly extortion scheme and political intrigue. Set in an ancient land, this pulsating mystery thriller is not for the fate of heart! Once again Amira proves that she can handle anything fate spins her way.

 

The writing was very good and quite easy to follow ... many persons (like me) enjoy reading as entertainment – a bit of an escape. Themes are well developed and use vivid imagery to add depth to the narrative. Overall, I enjoyed reading this story.
